## preface

i have actually made [a mixtape](https://kaitwillows.bandcamp.com/album/ushg-2025-ver) in the past technically, under a different alias, and it was mid? i guess? not mixed nor mastered at all, but alas :sob:. but i wanna make a new album.

i've always been bad at doing what i want, and maybe an assumption that got in my way partially was that i *couldn't* start a song with a premise, lyrics, or title, and that i had to just mess around in ableton until something sounded interesting, but i actually think the reverse might be true.

i asked vylet pony a question on her discord server, and got this, which immediately made so much sense to me, and i'm pretty sure it'd be a more effective way of writing music for me personally.
